Ranch Caretaker
Position Summary
Lazy T Ranch is seeking a dependable, hands-on Ranch & Estate Caretaker to maintain our properties, facilities, vehicles, and equipment to the highest standard of cleanliness and care. This is a versatile, trust-based role for a self-motivated professional who takes genuine pride in their work, operates with discretion, and thrives in a rural ranch environment. The position follows a seasonal schedule: approximately six months each year based in Ten Sleep, Wyoming, and the remaining six months in Arizona. The successful candidate must be willing and able to relocate seasonally between both locations as a condition of employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving & Transport: Safely operate trucks, trailers, and equipment over long distances between Wyoming and Arizona and as needed for ranch operations; maintain logs and ensure vehicles are road-ready.
- Deep Cleaning & Facilities Care: Perform thorough deep cleaning of kitchens, buildings, floors, and stainless-steel surfaces and fixtures, maintaining sanitary, presentation-ready conditions year-round.
- Aircraft & Vehicle Detailing: Carefully and meticulously wash, detail, and maintain the appearance of aircraft and vehicles using appropriate methods and products to avoid surface or finish damage.
- Equine Care: Handle horses confidently and safely, including saddling, unsaddling, washing, and routine handling; support general horse-care tasks as directed.
- Equipment & Grounds Support: Work comfortably in and around heavy equipment; assist with general property upkeep, grounds maintenance, and seasonal tasks.
- Property Stewardship: Help open, close, and secure both the Wyoming and Arizona properties during seasonal transitions; report maintenance needs promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Proven ability to operate vehicles safely over long distances; clean driving record.
- Demonstrated experience in deep cleaning of kitchens, buildings, floors, and stainless steel.
- Practical knowledge of and comfort working with horses, including saddling, unsaddling, and washing.
- Comfortable and safe working in and around heavy equipment.
- Willing and able to live in Ten Sleep, Wyoming approximately six months per year and in Arizona the remaining six months.
- Strictly tobacco/smoke-free and drug-free; must pass and maintain a clean pre-employment and ongoing screening.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with aircraft or high-end vehicle detailing.
- Background in ranch, estate, or property caretaking.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment maintenance experience.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role is performed in an active outdoor ranch and estate setting in varying weather conditions across two regions. The position requires the ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads, stand and move for extended periods, bend, kneel, and perform sustained physical labor. Seasonal relocation between Wyoming and Arizona is a core, ongoing requirement of the position.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Competitive pay, commensurate with experience, skills, and CDL certification.
- Housing: On-site or provided housing furnished at both the Wyoming and Arizona locations during the respective seasons, at no cost to the employee.
