This recipe is made even more delicious when adding a homemade coleslaw. To make a delicious, freshly made coleslaw that pairs perfectly with the beef sandwiches, combine 1/3 cup of mayonnaise, 1 ½ tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard, and half a head of shredded green cabbage. Thoroughly mix these ingredients until they are perfectly blended, then allow the mixture to sit for up to 20 minutes. During this time, the flavors will meld, and the cabbage will soften slightly, resulting in a delightful coleslaw.

Ingredients

Cowboy Style BBQ Beef Sandwich Ingredients:

  • 1 sweet yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 1/2 lb. Lazy T Ranch ground beef
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • Sea salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1 ¾ cups barbecue sauce of your choice
  • 4 sandwich rolls, cut in half, or sandwich buns

Instructions

How to Cook Cowboy Style BBQ Beef Sandwiches:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Next, sauté the onion and garlic until they turn tender, cooking for approximately 5 minutes. Introduce the beef, seasoning it with salt and pepper. Cook while frequently stirring to break up any clumps, until the beef is a rich brown color (around 8 minutes).
  2. Pour in the barbecue sauce, lower the heat to a gentle simmer, and continue to cook for about 5 more minutes until the meat is thoroughly coated and the sauce is heated through.
  3. Gently toast the rolls until they achieve a light crispness. Place the opened rolls onto individual plates. Spoon the prepared beef onto the lower halves of each roll, then cover with the top halves. Serve immediately.
