Similar to cooking a ribeye, your New York strip steak is cooked in a cast iron pan.
To get a nice sear, you want to pat all the moisture off of the steak with a paper towel. Next, you'll want to rub the seasoning into both sides of the steak. Really cover every side of your steak with your seasoning.
Next, olive oil your cast iron pan and apply medium-high heat.
Once the steak is cooked, it is time to baste it with butter.
